Q.- Will accommodation is provided by the company during training ?
A.- They provides accommodation basis business requirements. Accommodation is not provided to candidates whose ILP location will be same as their base branch. In case, TCS provides accommodation during the training period, the rent towards the same will be deducted from your House Rent Allowance (HRA).You will receive an email stating complete details of the accommodation one week prior to your ILP Schedule. In case
you do not receive the email, please connect with your ILP center four days in advance. The contact number of the training center is mentioned in the joining letter. Accommodation on sharing basis is provided two day prior to the ILP date and is available only for the trainees. It is mandatory to stay at the accommodation provided by TCS during the course of ILP. You can directly report at the accommodation place two day prior to the ILP.
Q.- Is accommodation also available for parents ?
A.- No accommodation facility is provided for any associates parents. If your parents wish to stay with you then they have to make their own arrangements for accommodation.
Q.- When I get my accommodation details ?
A.- You will receive an email stating address of the accommodation at least 3 days prior to your joining. In case you do not receive the email three days prior to the joining date, please connect with your ILP center. The contact number of the training centre is mentioned in the joining letter.
Q. - When can accommodation be availed ( if eligible ) ?
A.- Candidate can avail accommodation facility one day prior to the ILP joining date. Check in time is 12 Noon on the day before joining. Eg, if the joining is on a Monday, accommodation will be available from Sunday (1 day prior to joining) 12 Noon on wards. It is not possible to check in before 12 Noon due to certain logistical reasons.
Q. - will I be able to select my roommate ?
A. - You will not be able to select your roommate. They will select your roommate randomly.
Q. - Will i be able to change my room/roommate ?
A. - All such requests of change of room or roommate are entertained only if you have a valid reason for that. But this is highly unlikely that you won't be able to adjust with someone only for 2 Months.
Q.- Can accommodation availed if reporting at late night or early morning ?
A.- Yes, the employee can avail the accommodation provided even if he\she reports late at night or early in the morning.
Q.- Is it mandatory to stay at the accommodation provided by TCS during the course of ILP.
A.- Yes It is mandatory to stay at the accommodation provided by TCS during the course of ILP.
Q.- What are food arrangements during training ?
A.- Food is available at subsidized rates and expenses towards the same have to be borne by you. That means you will get some food coupons and food at low prices but you have to purchase it on your own
Q.- Are travel expenses provided by company ?
A.- Travel expenses need to be borne by you. TCS ensures that you are intimated of the training Joining date well in advance (at least 20 days in advance) so there is sufficient time to book your ticket and also complete the required documentation before joining TCS. As a policy, TCS does not provide any relocation expenses.
Q.- What does the training include during ILP ?
A.- The joining letter annexure contains a bird's eye view of the course, and the details will be conveyed during the ILP induction on joining.
Q.- How many Days vacation is provided after completing ILP and joining branch ?
A.- You will be given time off after the ILP training and there is a relocation gap of a maximum of four days.
Q.- In case of immediate reporting to branch after ILP who handles travel arrangement and expenses ?
A.- You have to make your own travel arrangements. TCS will reimburse the second A/ C train fare from the ILP Training centre to the respective base branch.
Q.- What if I do not have a passport ?
A.- In case you do not have a passport on the date of joining, you need to at least submit the proof of having applied for a passport, that is, copy of the receipt from the Passport office. It is mandatory to submit a copy of the passport before completion of ILP.
Q.- Are leaves allowed during ILP ?
A.- The ILP is five days a week with Saturday and Sunday off. No other leave is permitted during the ILP. If you have some medical issues then report them for further assistance.
Q.- How to correct mistakes in offer letter/joining letter in my name or other details ?
A.- The rectification in name miss spelt, change in new address or other details shall be made at the time of joining ILP.
Q.- Will i get some days of leave during ILP ?
A.- It is advisable not to avail leaves at the time of ILP, in case you require leaves due to any Emergency please connect with your ILP Coordinators & HR in advance.
Q.- What would be my joining date ? My classmates got joining dates but I don't ?
A.- Joining date is basis the business requirements of the company. It is finalized as and when your Batching is completed; once the process is completed you would receive an email confirmation, hence suggest you to wait for the same.
Complete your Aspire module with high score to get an early joining. Usually toppers of the branch ( those who were exempted for online aptitude test and directly interviewed ) got joining dates at first.
Q.- What is duration of ILP training ?
A.- A regular ILP duration varies between 60 to 90 days. However, the duration is subject to change based on business requirements.Your joining letter will specify the duration of your ILP. And if you have low grades in assessments during ILP they may decide to extend it.
Q. - What if I fail IRA ( initial readiness test ) on the day of joining ?
A. - Your ILP will be re-scheduled i.e. you will be provided a new joining date ( usually few months later ). But it is highly recommended that you must complete your Aspire course seriously and try not to fail in ILP because there are only a few number of chances that you get and after that they may reject you because of your low performance.
Q. - If i fail IRA when will ILP be re-scheduled ?
A. - Probably you will be re-batched within 6 months and you need to appear for IRA again.
Q.- Where do i get posted after ILP ?
A.- Your posting could be at any of the TCS centers based on business requirement and not on personal requests. This posting will be decided by TCS on successful completion of your ILP training.
Q.- How can I change my preferred location ?
A.- Once you select your preferred location then same cannot be changed. However, the final location will be finalized only once your training is complete. Your ILP performance will be taken into consideration at the time of your final location post ILP.
Q.- I was unable to join at my scheduled ILP date ? What procedure I need to follow ?
A.- You would require to connect with the ILP Support team on mail at ilp.support@tcs.com with your name and CT Reference Number along with a detailed reason for your inability to join on a scheduled date and also send them a scanned copy of a valid proof for the same.
Q.- I want to delay/postpone my ILP joining date. Is it possible ?
A.- That depends entirely on your reason and their decision about it.
Officially they say that changing ILP for some personnel reason is not possible.
But from what I had seen they may do it if they if you have a good and genuine reason.
Most given and accepted reasons are like - delay in result, unavailability of final semester mark sheet, severe illness ( you must send them a medical certificate from a doctor ) and unavailability of passport ( not sure if that works anymore because you may submit your passport later during ILP ).
But remember that you must email them your reason in a great detail along with the scanned copy of your proof of reason.
Q.- Are mobile phones/laptops allowed at ILP centres ?
A.- Yes, mobile phones/laptops are permitted only within hostel campus. You will be responsible for any/all of your personal belongings that is carried to the ILP Centre.
Q. - Can I take photos inside office premises ?
A.- Photography is banned inside the office premises for information security reasons. You will be discontinued from ILP if you take any photographs inside the office premises. Photographs should not be taken even on the day of joining or prior to that. Photography is also prohibited in those accommodations which is inside office premises.
Q. -Can I bring Laptop external- HDD or pen drive on joining day ?
A. - Laptop, external hard disk or pen drive will be detected during the X-ray scanner and you are not expected to bring any such device to office (even on the first day of joining). This is as per the information security policies of the organization.
Q.- Are electrical equipment like immersion rods, heaters, iron, kettles etc. are allowed in hostel premises ?
A.- No other electronic equipment other than mobile phones and laptops will be allowed in the hostel premises.
Q.- What are the facilities available at hostels ?
A.- Bedding would be provided to trainees. Internet connection will not be provided. Canteen facilities are available in the campus.
