Birth Certificate
Q.- What if do not have a Birth certificate ?
A.- A birth certificate is a mandatory document. In case you do not have it, please apply for it. As a temporary arrangement, you may produce an affidavit in English of the passport or SSC passing certificate on a ` 100/- Stamp paper containing your name, place and date of birth. Note: An affidavit is a written declaration made by a notary public or other authorized officer. But apply for the birth certificate as soon as possible because it will take some time.
Q.- If birth certificate does not have my name ?
A.- If the Birth Certificate does not contain the name, you will have to get
the birth certificate revised from the concerned authority in such a manner that it will contain your name. Your mother and father's names alone won't be sufficient for this purpose so you must get your name on it.

Q.- What if my birth date differs in birth certificate and other documents ?
A.- If the birth date is different in some non important documents like some old mark sheets ( primary classes ) or non mandatory certificates ( not demanded by the company at the time of joining ) then you don't have to worry about them as you can use your birth certificate date.
But if you have different birth dates on birth certificate and college mark sheets/degree or 10th/12th mark sheets then it is a very serious issue
You will have to get the other documents aligned with the birth date mentioned in the birth certificate as TCS considers the birth certificate a legitimate document. And for doing that you have to go to the respective document provider ( college/educational board ) and apply for a correction of birth date in accordance with your birth certificate. Otherwise you are in a serious trouble because the company may terminate you job if they are not satisfied with your explanation. I will strongly suggest you to contact them immediately and ask for their assistance.
Note - Until now Changing/Correcting Birth date and spelling mistakes in your name is not an easy process especially in 10th/12th mark sheets and colleges consider them as a proof of date of birth and name at the time of admission so, if you have wrong DOB in 10th then they will ask you to correct it and submit them if you seek correction in DOB of your college degree which is also a pain and these processes takes a lot of time ( sometimes months )

It doesn't matter you study in which stream and what your occupation is you must pay attention to these details of certificate when you get it first
1. Your Name
2. Mother's name
3. Father's name
Mistakes include spelling mistakes and even wrong acronyms. Like Pavan kumar rajak and P.K. Rajak may be considered different names by many authorities. So make sure you use same acronym all the time
4. Date of birth
Make sure that these details are consistent/same in all of your certificates and if you find any mistake then apply for correction immediately because they handle recent cases on more priority basis. Because a more recent case is more likely to be a genuine one and as more and more time passes you have more certificates based on that wrong certificate which you will have to correct ultimately.
