After you got selected you have to complete Aspire - an online course. Aspire is essential course for every fresher joining TCS. It helps you to clear some basics about programming and give you some insight on history of TCS.
It is not mandatory to complete, but it is essential because not only it ensure an early joining but also it helps you to clear IRAs with flying colours.

Getting started

After the placement drive is over and selection process is complete, results will be announced generally on the same day or on the next working day. Since all the process is online, you will get an email from TCS congratulating you on your selection. Before celebrating please make sure that you get the conformation email. Otherwise your friends will bankrupt you for nothing :)

Wondering what you can wear at ILP so that you can take your clothes accordingly ? Well here are some tips;-

Since employees are representatives of the Organization, and their dress, grooming, personal hygiene and moral conduct is a reflection of the organisation to the outside world. There are some official rules about dressing in present time. I am sure they will change with time. and who knows by how much magnitude ? 


All employees are expected to adhere to the Dress Code guidelines when at the workplace (both during and beyond official working hours). Workplace for the purpose of this guidelines includes Offices, Client Offices and any other location where the employee represents the company.

Guidelines to complete Service Agreement

You can download the Service Agreement by logging in to TCS nextstep website - ILP corner and clicking on ‘Download Service Agreement for Rs100 Stamp Paper/`Rs 50 Stamp Paper’ link on TCS NextStep>>ILP Corner>>First Day at TCS>> Joining Formalities.

Print the service agreement as given in the website without any changes ( Just copy paste it do not edit ). You can not delete or rearrange the clauses. In case of non-applicability, leave the clauses blank and do not delete them ( It is critical

Joining Formalities

If you are curious about your first days schedule at ILP and want to be prepared for it, then here is a brief explanation for you ....


Like any other place, first day will be dedicated to introduction and joining formalities. Generally it would start with a welcome address by one of the TCS Senior Management person.

 It is requested that you must carry the below mentioned documents on the day of your joining.

1. Offer Letter and Joining Letter

It is mandatory to carry a copy of your Offer Letter and Joining Letter on the day of joining.
If you don't know where it is then first check your email ID that you used for enrollment purpose. There must be an email sent by the company at the date of your selection and along with this there will be an attached PDF file containing your offer letter.

Q.- Can two RS 50 stamp paper can be used to print the Non –Criminal Undertaking/ Affidavit in place of a single stamp paper if it's not available  ?

A.- Yes, two RS 50 stamp paper can be used to print the Non –Criminal Undertaking/ Affidavit / Service Agreement.
This is a general case because stamp vendors try to sell their low value stamp papers.

Q.- I live on current place on temporary basis and don't have address proof, but have the address proof of my permanent address ?

A.- You may provide a copy of the ownership agreement/Rental agreement of the house you are residing in / a society letter on the letter head of the building stating that you are

Q.- Is NSR registration mandatory ? And till when it needs to be completed ?

A.- Yes it is mandatory. You need to complete the registration and bio-metric process of NSR before joining ILP (please visit site www.nationalskillsregistry.com). If, under certain circumstances you are not able to complete the National Skills Registry, second phase(Biometrics  can be arranged during ILP. That means you must complete the online registration process at www.nationalskillregistry.com and if you don't have a NSR center nearby you can complete the second phase at ILP joining center.

Q.- I don't have a surname. What should I write in last field ?

Q.- What if do not have a Birth certificate ?

A.- A birth certificate is a mandatory document. In case you do not have it, please apply for it. As a temporary arrangement, you may produce an affidavit in English of the passport or SSC passing certificate on a ` 100/- Stamp paper containing your name, place and date of birth. Note: An affidavit is a written declaration made by a notary public or other authorized officer. But apply for the birth certificate as soon as possible because it will take some time.
